About the Oregon Zoo
The Oregon Zoo, located in Portland's Washington Park, is home to more than 2,000 animals representing over 200 species. Founded in 1888, it is the oldest zoo west of the Mississippi. The zoo is renowned for its conservation efforts, particularly its work with California condors, Oregon silverspot butterflies, and elephant breeding.
