Powell's City of Books is a Portland institution and a must-visit for book lovers. The flagship store in the Pearl District occupies an entire city block with over 3,500 different sections and more than a million new and used books. The store is famous for its color-coded rooms, knowledgeable staff, and the unique experience of finding treasured used books alongside brand-new releases. It is also known for hosting major author events and readings.
