Stevenson is the seat of Skamania County and one of the friendliest small towns on the Columbia River. Originally a timber and fishing community, it has transformed into a welcoming gateway to the Columbia River Gorge. The town takes its name from George H. Stevenson, an early settler, and today it welcomes visitors with a relaxed pace, beautiful riverfront setting, and easy access to world-class outdoor recreation. The Stevenson-to-Portland commute route along Highway 14 offers some of the most scenic driving in the Pacific Northwest.

From Portland, take I-84 east to the Bridge of the Gods (exit 44), cross into Washington, and head east on Highway 14. From Vancouver, take Highway 14 east for about 40 miles. Stevenson sits right on the river.

The Historic Columbia River Highway with its many waterfalls is a short drive across the river.
